# messages.yml

Player-facing messages and detailed menu text are stored in `plugins/CozyClaims/messages.yml`.

### Formatting

Messages use Adventure MiniMessage formatting. Examples:

```yaml
prefix: "<gray>[<gold>Claims</gold>]</gray> "
no-permission: "<red>You do not have permission to do that."
```

Common tags include `<red>`, `<gold>`, `<gray>`, ``, and their closing forms. Invalid MiniMessage input is shown literally instead of disabling the plugin.

### Placeholders

Placeholders use braces, such as `{player}`, `{claim}`, `{seconds}`, or `{remaining}`. Keep the placeholders used by the original message; CozyClaims replaces them at runtime.

`{prefix}` inserts the configured prefix where supported.

### Lists

Some menu lore entries are YAML lists:

```yaml
gui:
  main:
    my-claims-lore:
      - "<gray>Browse every claim you own."
      - "<yellow>Click to open the list."
```

Keep the indentation and list markers intact.

### Reloading and recovery

Run `/claimsadmin reload` after editing the file. CozyClaims merges newly introduced default message keys into existing files during startup/reload. If a customization behaves unexpectedly, compare the key with the current default and check the console for YAML or MiniMessage warnings.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cheddah-development.net/plugin-documentaion/cozy-claims/administration/messages.yml.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
